When it comes to weddings, colour has the power to tell a story, evoke emotions, and create unforgettable experiences. Gone are the days where white and pastel palettes dominate, with many of our modern couples embracing bold, joyful and expressive colour schemes that reflect their personalities and culture. After all, a colourful wedding isn’t just a feast for the eyes; it’s a celebration of life, love, and creativity.
This is exactly what Emily and Mark chose to do, and the result was an explosion of vibrant colour, creating a one-of-a-kind celebration that tells their story.
Here’s how they achieved their stunning colourful wedding reception:
- Florals: Opting for a mix of seasonal blooms in contrasting shades and choosing both modest table arrangements alongside big, bold trailing floral arches created a truly spectacular setting, with every nook and cranny filled with playful detail.
- Table Settings: Colourful candles, beautiful crockery/ glassware and delicate floral displays instantly elevated their reception.
- Lighting: Our LED’s can be set to any colour, but they chose our favourite – a pink/purple hue which transformed the mood from day to night. Coupled with our twinkling fairy lights and outdoor festoons, the glow from the lighting enhanced every colour.
- Personal Touches: One of the easiest ways to inject colour is to add your own decoration and they chose to do this through ribbon tassels, neon signs, personalised hanging banners, multi-coloured confetti, and even 1000 hand-made origami cranes! The visual result was spectacular with every corner bursting with rainbow loveliness!
The Venue

Having the perfect setting to bring your vision to life is crucial for any wedding and Emily & Mark hit the jackpot with their venue.
Heathy Lee, nestled in a secluded corner of the Chatsworth Estate in the Peak District, is much more than just a wedding venue – it’s a weekend experience. With exclusive use over three nights, you get to stay in beautifully restored cottages and luxury shepherd’s huts, all set amid sweeping gardens and parkland that spill into Chatsworth’s 1,100-acre Estate.
This charming venue complemented their Tipis perfectly with breathtaking views and a truly unique location! They chose to create different ‘zones’ to their wedding, with separate areas for the Band, Ceremony, arrival drinks and their Tipi reception. And the main theme running throughout was of course, colour!
Capturing the Colour

A colourful wedding deserves equally vibrant photography. Natural light, creative backdrops, and candid moments all help capture the magic and their photographer did them justice! I can honestly say that when they shared their gallery with us, every single image made us smile!
Adele, the creative force behind Fly On The Wall Photography, has a gift for capturing life’s most genuine moments as they naturally unfold. With an eye for emotion and detail, she blends artistry with authenticity – turning fleeting glances, laughter, and quiet in betweens into timeless imagery. Whether it’s a wedding, family session, or milestone event, Adele’s unobtrusive approach ensures every story is told honestly and beautifully.
The Crew!

Emily & Mark really did support local talent, opting for small business creatives to help bring their vision to life. They had so many wonderfully inspiring ideas and managed to bring them to fruition by adding their own personal touches. It was a joy to see everything come together and it really was a labour of love. Every element complemented their theme perfectly, from the extravagant florals and table decorations, through to personalised ‘Bride & Groom’ champagne glasses.
The Feedback…

We were overjoyed to hear about their day, and this is what Emily & Mark had to say…
‘Thank you so much Jamie & Phil for providing the Tipis for our big day! The Tipis are absolutely stunning and were plenty big enough for our wedding. Jamie & Phil were key in our wedding planning and were always there to support us in our decision making. They are also incredibly friendly and helpful! Thank you both so much for everything!’
We adore how Emily & Mark managed to capture who they are as a couple within the styling of their big day. A colourful wedding isn’t just about décor – it’s about expression. After all, love is anything but black and white.
